Phyllis E. Condon, 96, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on March 12, 2023 while residing at Tockwotton on the Waterfront in Rhode Island. Born in Brockton and formerly of Parkwood Beach, Wareham, MA.

She was the loving wife of the late John J. Condon. In her later years, she was the wife of the late Warren Fergerson. Phyllis was predeceased by her husbands, her mother and father; Bertram Lewis and Edna (Schmidt) Lewis of Brockton, Golden Shores, Florida & Parkwood Beach, Wareham, her sister; Jeannie Hallisey of FL, and her grandson, Jack Condon of Lakeville, MA.

She leaves behind her children, John P. Condon and wife Brenda of Lakeville, MA, Jeannie M. Condon of Warwick, RI, Suzanne (Condon) Burke and husband Kevin Burke of Parkwood Beach, Wareham and Stephen L. Condon of Charlotte, NC.

Phyllis also leaves her beloved grandchildren; Ashley E. (Burrill) Frey and husband Billy Frey of Wareham, MA, Ryanne (Condon) Moody of Burleson, TX, Meaghan C. Condon and partner Patrick (P.J.) Fernandes of Plymouth, Richard J. Condon of Lakeville, MA, Maria Katherine Condon, Nicholas J. Condon, Susannah G. Condon all of Charlotte, NC. Her great grandchildren: Cameron J. Quinn of Wareham, MA and Roland of Houston, TX. Phyllis also leaves her godchild Ellen (O’Connor) Taxiera of Raynham and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, and their families.

Phyllis (Lewis) was a graduate of Brockton High School. She worked for several years at the Quincy Shipyard and attended Boston University, thoroughly enjoying her college years with many stories to share. She married her high school sweetheart, Joe and they began their loving family. Phyllis’s joy of her life was being a mother and having her family to care for and spend time with. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all.

Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her husband Joe and family throughout various parts of the country. She enjoyed music; she played the piano and loved to sing along to music at any chance she got. She loved to knit, crochet and sew. She made many dresses and outfits for her girls when they were young. She was very creative and enjoyed all of her crafts including painting and weaving her beautiful Nantucket Baskets. She enjoyed sailing and beach life!

Phyllis liked to volunteer for many charities and was a member of the Tobey Hospital Guild, Wareham Garden Club and was an active member of the Parkwood Beach Association running many years of whist parties and bake sales.

Phyllis took up golf and was a member of the Little Harbor Country Club enjoying her weekly team competition. She enjoyed walking daily, yoga and always led an active life.

Phyllis enjoyed having her family gatherings at her home overlooking the bay. Everyone was always welcome. She loved to have weekend family dinners and enjoyed dining out. Her passion was shopping. She loved to “shop till you drop” followed by an chocolate ice cream soda. She enjoyed tracing her family tree, landscaping, gardening and working in her yard. She always had a beautiful yard to relax in. Phyllis loved to be with people and family. She will sadly be missed by all.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday March 16, from 4-6pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center street Wareham, MA 02571. Funeral Mass Friday March 17, at 11 O’clock in Saint Patrick’s Church, 94 High Street, Wareham followed by interment in Agawam Cemetery Stillman Memorial Dr. Wareham.
