Wareham firefighters extinguished a pickup truck that became engulfed in flames near West Wareham Academy on Main Street Friday afternoon.

Wareham Fire Chief Robert McDuffy said the fire started in the engine compartment and soon the truck was "fully involved." He said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The driver had exited the truck and was waiting outside when firefighters arrived at approximately 2:30 p.m.
