Pipes and 13 spigots were ripped out of the ground and stolen from the Agawam Cemetery last week, according to Town Administrator Derek Sullivan.

At Tuesday's Selectmen meeting, Sullivan said municipal maintenance workers were in the process of cleaning up the cemetery for families to visit their loves ones on Memorial Day.

Sullivan called the theft "a disgusting act," and apologized to anyone with family members at the grave site.

He said the town is working on finding the people responsible for the theft.
