Polar Express tickets go on sale
A line stretching out the door of Eastern Bank all the way to its parking lot made Main Street seem busier than usual Friday morning, when Polar Express tickets went on sale in the bank's lobby.
"Last year we had a line, but it wasn't this long," Eastern Bank telemanager Annette Brouillette said, adding that though tickets didn't go on sale until 10 a.m., one woman said she had been waiting outside since 7 a.m.
Once the tickets officially went on sale at 10 a.m. the line began moving quickly. The number of people getting tickets this morning could be attributed to the event's new policy of not accepting reservations.
Brouillette stood outside near the end of the line to make sure bank customers were not inconvenienced and to hand out candy to the children who were waiting in line with their mothers.
There are currently a very limited number of random blocks of tickets available for the Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27 trains. For more information call 508-295-9514.
