Oct 2, 2010

Police have arrested Robert Ward, 49, of 96 Plymouth Ave., for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and heroin after a two-week surveillance of his property.

Ward is considered by law enforcement authorities to be a mid-level cocaine distributor in greater Southeastern Massachusetts.

When Ward was initially approached at the residence, he struggled with police and had to be physically subdued. When police entered the home, they found approximately 20 individually packaged substances in clear glassine bags that are believed to contain crack cocaine and powder heroin.

Police and K-9 officers also located a digital scale, "corner cut" glassine bags, and a digital police scanner that was programmed with the Wareham Police Department frequency. Ward was also in possession of over $600.00 dollars in cash. These seized items are all commonly associated with drug dealing activity.
