Police Chief exam completed, results to follow
Residents will know who will replace former Police Chief Richard Stanley some time in early 2015, according to Town Administrator Derek Sullivan.
Applicants for the chief's position took an "assessment center" exam on Nov. 6. The exam is made up of 45, equally-weighted exercises that use role playing and task simulation to replicate on-the-job situations.
Sullivan said he wouldn't have the results from the exam for at least another four weeks, and a decision would be announced several weeks after that.
Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh took over for Stanley last July when he went on medical leave. Stanley went on to announce his retirement in November of 2013, and Walsh remained in the position.
The Nov. 6 exam, which was open to all Wareham lieutenants and sergeants, had five applicants, including both Wareham lieutenants.
