Wareham Police on November 15 arrested a Dartmouth woman and New Bedford man accused of shoplifting more than $1,700 worth of baby formula.

Police arrested Krysten King of Dartmouth and Dewayne Carter of New Bedford, both 27 years old, after they admitted to stealing $475 worth of Enfamil baby formula from Target in Wareham Crossing, according to a police statement.

After investigating further, police found that the pair had also stolen $565 worth of Enfamil from Target on November 13 and $700 worth of the same formula from the Target store located in Dartmouth, police said.

King and Carter were both charged with two counts of larceny in excess of $250 and with receiving stolen property, according to police. Carter was also charged with providing a false name to a police officer.

Police said that upon learning Carter's actual name, they found that he had five outstanding warrants issued in New Bedford for past larceny and forgery-related charges.

The suspects were scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on November 16. Police said the investigation into the larcenies is ongoing.
