Police search for suspect in attempted robbery at Pepin's Liquors
Wareham Police are searching for a man who was involved in an attempted robbery at Pepin's Liquors in West Wareham on Saturday, January 14. Police said the man was holding a hammer and a plastic bag when he entered the store at approximately 8:30 p.m.
The clerk immediately called police and the man fled without taking any money or merchandise, according to a Wareham Police statement.
The clerk told police that the man was approximately 5'10" to 6'0" tall and wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt or zip work jacket with dark pants and brown boots, police said.
The man appeared to have brown hair and a "slight beard" in video captured by the store's surveillance camera, according to police.
The Wareham Police Department Detective Division is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Douglas Jacinto at 508-295-1206.
It was the second time in less than two months that Pepin's was targeted in a robbery. Police are continuing to search for a suspect and his female accomplice who were involved in a November 28 robbery. The male suspect revealed a knife, took a cash register from the store, and fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said.
