Polly Wydom, 75
Polly A. Wydom (Becklund), 75, of Wareham passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 16 after a brief illness at Kindred Forestview Nursing Home.
Born July 6, 1939 in Newtown, Mass. to the late Elmer and Marjorie (Brown) Becklund of Waltham, Polly graduated Waltham High School Class of 1957, and later the Chandler Business School of Boston. She worked at Brandeis College and was later employed long term at Marlboro Hospital in the medical records department.
She lived in Marlboro and moved to Wareham eight years ago. She was happiest spending time with family, tending to her many special gardens and traveling extensively throughout the Caribbean, especially Aruba and the Dominican Republic. She was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Herbert H. Wydom and her three sons, David J. Wydom and his wife Tina, Christopher J. Wydom, and Marc J. Wydom and his wife Kristen. She is also survived by her brother Richard Becklund of Maine and her six grandchildren; Paul, Douglas, Nicole, Leanne, Taylor and Casey.
A celebration service of life will be held Thursday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. in the First Church of Marlboro Congregational, 37 High St., Marlboro. Cremation and a private burial will take place at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21 in John P. Rowe Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Marlboro MA 01752 from 4 to 8 p.m.
