Public invited to Wareham Master Plan workshop on Sept. 14

Sep 14, 2017

Residents are being invited to weigh in on Wareham’s future at a Master Plan Workshop, set for Sept 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.

Master Plans cover a 10-year period and address a community's goals for land use, housing, climate change, economic development, services and facilities, transportation, open space and recreation, and natural and cultural resources. Completing a Master Plan not only ensures that town officials work from a shared vision for the community, but also makes the town eligible for various state grants.

During Thursday’s session, ideas from Wareham’s current Master Plan will be discussed as well as ones submitted earlier this year at a series of public workshops.

Participants will be able to hear from a consultant hired by the town, ask questions and submit their own ideas for the plan. Attendees may also participate in a “visioning exercise” designed to get people thinking about Wareham’s future.
