READER PHOTOS: Beverly Cummings
Pictured are three shots by local photographer Beverly Cummings, who enjoys shooting wildlife in her neighborhood off of Great Neck Road.
Cummings said she uses a Nikon D60 to shoot.
"I have been taking pictures all my life for fun, so when I retired, I realized that I had a special love for shooting," she said.
The first shot is of some coyotes in the area.
"I think it is a mother, father and three kids," she said. "They are having a harder time finding food with all the snow."
Cummings said she uses a distance lens much of the time.
"In order to get these pictures you need to bring them in," she said. "Then I edit."
The second two photos are of a bluebird who stopped by for a winterberry and a rest on Cummings' birdhouse just before Christmas.
"My second love are birds, so a lot of feeding goes on," she said.
