Recent arrests for lewdness, operating under the influence, false 911

The Wareham Police Department has made a number of arrests in recent days for charges including open and gross lewdness, driving under the influence, and making a false 911 call.

On Thursday, December 26, at 10:18 p.m., Ricardo Montejo Jr., 25, of West Tisbury, was arrested by Officer Lorenzo Grosso and Juvenile Detective Karl Baptiste following a disturbance at the Rosewood Motel. Montejo Jr. is charged with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest. During the incident and subsequent arrest, police say he berated officers and was combative at the police station. 

John J. Carter Jr., 22, of West Wareham, was arrested at 10:48 a.m. by Officers Stephen Harrison and Christopher Smith at his residence on a warrant.

On Tuesday, December 31, Thomas Tavares, 61, of no certain address, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. by Officers Eric Machado and Christopher Corner on Cranberry Highway for an active warrant.

Candace Murphy, 59, of Wareham, was arrested at 8:48 p.m. by Officers Garrett Smith and Calib Larue at the Woods at Wareham complex following a disturbance. She is charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and making a false 911 call. 

Miranda Jackson, 23, of Carver, was arrested at 11:13 p.m. by Officers Larue and Garrett Smith at Tobey Hospital following a disturbance. During the incident, police say Jackson caused damage to a room and then exposed herself while yelling and screaming. She is charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, vandalizing property and open and gross lewdness. 

Matthew Donovan, 28, of Wareham, was arrested at 5:11 a.m. by Officers Grosso and Garrett Smith, following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in the center of Wareham. Officer Grosso observed him driving a vehicle down the middle of the road with the back left wheel missing. Donovan is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.

Amanda Vincent, 27, and Karissa Depina, 25, both of New Bedford, were arrested by Officer Aaron Pacheco following a motor vehicle stop at 11:29 p.m. It was reported that the vehicle that Vincent was operating had been involved in a car accident by the Route 195 overpass on Cranberry Highway and fled the scene. Officer Pacheco located and stopped the vehicle near Atlantic Boats. Vincent is charged with operating under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating without a license in possession. Depina, a passenger in the car, was placed into custody because of an active warrant.
