Recycling Center given honors for work in community
For all the trash sorting, the Wareham Recycling Center is getting its flowers.
The center was honored at the Tuesday, Feb. 17 Select Board meeting for its work within the community. The program diverts over 30 tons of waste from landfills each year.
Located at the end of Plymouth Road by the Wareham Exit Three Park and Ride, the center offers various events throughout the year like paper shredding days and styrofoam collection days to accept a variety of items. Current hours of operation are Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon.
Member of the board, Sarah Corbitt, read the proclamation for the program.
"Be it proclaimed by the town of Wareham hereby recognizes and commends the Wareham Recycling Center," she read.
