Margaret Louise (Perry) Gauvin, 91
WAREHAM – It was an especially beautiful day for those who believe in Jesus; for the Lord Himself walked our town, met a friend and took her with Him. In so doing, our Lord made good on his promise to take Margaret Louise (Perry) Gauvin, 91, of Wareham, who passed away on May 24, 2026, at home. She was the wife of the late Andre P. Gauvin and the daughter of the late Willard H. and G. Evelyn (Whiting) Perry.
She was born in East Wareham and lived there her whole life. She graduated from Wareham High School, class of 1952. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class.
Mrs. Gauvin worked as a telephone operator for AT&T for many years before retiring in 1990.
She attended the Evangelical Zion Church in West Wareham, and was a member and past president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service in Wareham.
She enjoyed making cards and sending them to family and friends, playing cards and board games, knitting, reading, crocheting, puzzles, scrapbooking and going to yard sales. She supported Christian missionary work for many years.
Survivors include her children, Denise DePree and her husband, Kim of Myrtle Beach, SC, Michelle Ruiz and her husband, Steven of East Wareham, Paul Gauvin and his wife, Debra of East Wareham, Andrea Buckley and her husband, Matthew of Mattapoisett, Darryl Gauvin and his former wife, Dawna of East Wareham and Monique Hodges and her husband, Greg of Plymouth; her brothers and sisters, Stephen Perry of Milton, John Perry of Wareham, Phyllis Milliken of PA, Samuel Perry of East Wareham, Ruth Donahue of FL and Thomas Perry of Carver; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Grace Perry, David Perry, Willard Perry, Faith Haarala and Miriam Mills.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Agawam Cemetery, Stillman Memorial Dr., Wareham.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
