A reel-ly good time at the Tihonet Pond Fishing Derby

The Wankinquoah Rod & Gun Club will host its annual Tihonet Pond Fishing Derby on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at A.D. Makepeace Company, 3 Farm to Market Road in Wareham.

 Check-in begins at 4 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. Fishing starts at 6 a.m., with weigh-ins scheduled from 6 a.m. to noon. Raffles and awards will be presented at 1 p.m. in Box Mill Hall. 

The annual derby draws both serious fishermen and families looking to spend time together outdoors with fishing, raffles, prizes, breakfast and activities for all ages. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories for adult and junior participants.
