Register for special state election by June 5

The last day to register to vote in the special state election is Wednesday, June 5, at the Wareham Town Clerk's office.

The clerk's office will remain open until 8 p.m. that day.

The special election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry when he was appointed Secretary of State.

Democratic state representative Edward Markey will face off against Republican state representative Gabriel Gomez for the position.

The Town Clerk's office is located at 54 Marion Road.
