Renowned illusionist to perform at YMCA's 10th Anniversary celebration

Aug 20, 2014

Nationally-known illusionist Lyn Dillies will help the Gleason Family YMCA celebrate its 10th Anniversary this Saturday, August 23, at the Gleason Family YMCA.

Dillies is known for possessing the ability to perform grand illusions. She once created magic history by being the only illusionist to manifest two Asian elephants at once in front of a live audience at New Bedford’s Buttonwood Park Zoo, and she was named the 2009 Female Magician of the Year.

The Gleason Family YMCA was the vision of Dr Charles “Sherm” Gleason. Sherm was a local pediatrician and a strong advocate of the youth in Wareham. In the 10 years the YMCA has been open, there have been four additions, including an outdoor pool, and a total of over $13.5 millions dollars has been raised. The YMCA is a full-service facility with about 8,000 members.

The Saturday event will begin at 7 p.m. and includes a social hour with heavy hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.

Ms Dillies’ show will follow the social hour at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available at the front desk of the Gleason YMCA for $50, as well as at the door. Call 508-295-9622 for more information
