Rep. Williams-Gifford secures funding for Wareham Council on Aging

Aug 5, 2021

State Representative Susan Williams-Gifford successfully lobbied at the state level for $20,000 in funding for the Wareham Council on Aging.

The funds are part of the overall $41.8 billion state budget for Fiscal Year 2022.

According to a press release from Gifford’s office, the funds will support the Council on Aging’s meals and nutritional programs.

“The need to provide adequate services to our Seniors is great.  During the pandemic, that need was intensified,” said Gifford.  “The earmark amount of $20,000 is modest but will help continue the efforts of upgrading the facility and services the Carver COA is able to provide.”

The budget has been signed by Governor Charlie Baker.
