Richard O. Charlebois, 89, truck driver, WWII Army veteran
Richard O. Charlebois, 89, of E. Wareham, died Monday, October 4, 2010 at Jordan Hospital, in Plymouth. He was the husband of the late Shirley L. (Tetreault) Charlebois.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George P. and Alma (Richard) Charlebois, he moved to Brockton in 1945. Mr. Charlebois became a resident of E. Wareham in 1981 after his retirement.
Mr. Charlebois was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 653 and was a truck driver for Inter-City Trucking in South Easton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Halifax V.F.W. Post # 6258. He was also a member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks # 1548.
He is survived by his children, Donna Nash, of New Port Richey, FL, Linda Mondeau, of Raynham, William Charlebois, of W. Bridgewater, and John Charlebois, of E. Wareham; his sister Therese Wells, of Brockton; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by his son, the late Richard Charlebois, II.
Relatives and friends may gather on Friday, October 8 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 9 a.m. followed by a graveside service at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, at 10:15 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, October 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
