Robert DeJesus, 77
Robert DeJesus, 77, of West Wareham passed away July 6 at Tobey Hospital. He was the friend, companion, and husband of Betty L. (Anderson) DeJesus of West Wareham.
Robert was born in New Bedford, the son of the late John and Mary (Bettencourt) DeJesus.
Robert worked for many years in the automotive industry. He worked as a mechanic for Whitney J. Bent of Dartmouth, as a service manager for Colonial Motors of Wareham , and he owned and operated Kerry Pontiac & American Jeep of Wareham.
Robert was one the area's dedicated and proud cranberry growers. He currently was the manager of Great Bear Farms of Rochester and managed his and his wife’s cranberry bogs.
He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed boating and travel, especially on a cruise ship.
He is survived by his children and step-children, Marc DeJesus of Wilmington, NC; Kerry De Jesus of New Bedford; Debra VanHall and her husband Travis of Rochester; Todd Myers of West Wareham. He is the brother of Daniel DeJesus and his wife Hazel of Fairhaven, David DeJesus and Gloria of New Bedford, and John DeJesus Jr. and his wife Jean of Tifton, GA. He is the loving grandfather of Lynn, Mandi, Jonathan, Nathan, Austin, Brianne, Trenton, Brooke Rebecca and Danikka and great-grandfather of T.J. He is the nephew of Cezar Bettencourt of South Dartmouth. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Robert is the father of the late Robert DeJesus Jr. and brother of the late Alfred DeJesus.
The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at South Coast Cancer Centers and Tobey Hospital for the exceptional care Robert received.
