Robert A. Gallus, 79

Robert A. Gallus, 79, of West Wareham, died Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary F. (Smith) Gallus.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Emma M. (Santos) Gallus. Mr. Gallus worked for the Tremont Nail Company, then as foreman for Cranberry Growers Service for 30 years.  

Mr. Gallus was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, a drag racing mechanic, and was a member of the Rapid Tappets Car Club in Wareham. He was also a member of the Improved Order of Red Men, Cromesett Tribe # 156 in Wareham.

Survivors include his wife; his daughter, Michelle McKinnon of Wareham; his son, Robert A. Gallus, Jr. and his fiancé Danielle Gilbert of Wareham; his sisters, Carol Robbins of Onset, and Barbara Pierce of E. Wareham; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle and Colby McKinnon, and Tyler, Mason and Daniel Gallus.  He was predeceased by his sister, the late Patricia Pina.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 5 – 8 PM.  (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity). Funeral services on Saturday will be by invitation only.
