Robert “Bob” Dias, 81
Robert “Bob” Dias, 81, of Wareham, set sail for his next adventure on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Born on August 30, 1943, in Norwood, MA, Bob was the son of Raymond and Adeline Dias. A Norwood High 1962 graduate, a Navy veteran and lifelong entrepreneur, he ran Bob Dias Signs for decades. He eventually settled full-time to his family’s summer cottage in Swifts Beach, Wareham in the 1990’s, where he enjoyed fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, and never sitting still—working well into his late 70s. If he wasn’t on the water or at work, you could find him watching The Boston Red Sox, The New England Patriots, and catching up with friends at the Gateway Tavern.
Bob is survived by his children, Christopher and Elizabeth, his daughter-in-law, Michelle, and his grandson, James, who already has his grandfather’s laughter and spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9:00am–11:00am at Holden-Dunn-Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood, MA. A graveside service will follow at Highland Cemetery, 320 Winter St., Norwood.
To honor Bob’s memory, skip the flowers—just raise a glass at the Gateway and toast to a life well-lived, tell a good story, to our ships at sea and our absent friends—he’d say that’s a much better way to remember him.
