NORWICH, CT - Rochelle A. Pires, 62, of Canterbury, CT formerly of Wareham, died Friday, February 3, 2023 at Backus Hospital, in Norwich. She was the wife of Mark W. Pires.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Paula Robinson of Hudson, FL and the late Charles Nunes. A longtime resident of Wareham, she graduated from Wareham High School. She worked at Lakeville Hospital for many years, and after moving to Canterbury, CT, she received her certificate as a licensed practical nurse and worked at local nursing homes.

Rochelle was happiest when she was on the beach with her family, especially Nauset Beach in Cape Cod and South Beach in Martha’s Vineyard.

She is survived by her husband, Mark W. Pires of Canterbury, CT; her children, Alexis Pires and Wayde Pires both of Canterbury, CT; her step-daughter, Carissa Sweigart of Plymouth; her mother, Paula Robinson of Hudson, FL; and her brothers, Curt Nunes of Attleboro and Glen Nunes of Dighton.
