Hosted by the Onset Bay Association and Wareham Village Association, the contest features a variety scarecrows designed by local businesses, clubs, families and individuals. One scarecrow put together by members of the John W. Decas Elementary School even features free books for kids to take and enjoy.
The costumed figures will be on display until Nov. 1. Community members will judge the scarecrows on Oct. 29 and prizes will be awarded in several categories.
