School Committee recognizes MCAS excellence, Adams scholars
Nov 7, 2013
The School Committee on Wednesday recognized the nearly 60 Wareham students who either achieved perfect MCAS scores last spring, were awarded John and Abigail Adams Scholarships, or both.
The students packed the Wareham Middle School auditorium with their families and were congratulated by their principals and the School Committee members.
Adams scholarships cover the tuition at public colleges for students who score "advanced" or "proficient" on the English and math MCAS tests taken in grade 10, and who have combined scores from the tests that place them in the top 25% of their graduating class.
