School District offices to move to Wareham Middle School

Jan 20, 2022

The Wareham School District will be moving its central offices to the Wareham Middle School, located at 4 Viking Dr.

The district initially announced it would move its administration offices in October, at the request of the town, which plans to dedicate the Multiservice Center to the Council on Aging.

At the time, the district said it planned to move into the East Wareham School, located at 27 Depot St.

Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Shaver-Hood said that the district was finalizing its plans to move the offices to the middle school with the intention of vacating the Multiservice Center by March 1.

“They would really like to have this building back,” Shaver-Hood said.

She explained that the district had abandoned its plans to move its central offices to the East Wareham School for several reasons.

“There needs to be work,” she said. “It would be out of our budget … and that would take some time, and given the time table of them wanting us out of this building, we just don’t have time to finish it.”

The district is in the process of working out exactly where in the middle school the offices will be located, Shaver-Hood said.
