Scott Record performs to sellout crowd at Elks Lodge

If anyone in Wareham knows how to put on a show, it's Scott Record.

The multi-talented entertainer put on a music and comedy show to a sellout crowd at the Wareham Lodge of Elks Saturday night. The venue was easily filled to it's 300-seat capacity.

"I've never seen so many people here for something like this," said Bob Fox, of Middleborough.

The event opened up with comedian Joe Yanetty, who told jokes about what it was like growing up Italian in East Boston. Yannetty was also able to spin his fight against throat cancer into uproarious laughs from the audience.

Record spends half of his year and Wareham and the other half in Sherman Oaks, California or doing performances across the country. Record sang, danced, cracked jokes and gave a true all-around performance Saturday night. He was also accompanied by a nine-piece band comprised of teachers from the Berklee College of Music.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the show were donated to the non-profit group Hope for the Warriors, an organization where 100 percent of donations goes to helping our wounded veterans.

"This is the first time I think I've ever done a performance in Wareham," Record said. "I'll be doing more, I can tell you that."
