Select Board approves sign, town road use for Buzzards Bay Coalition Watershed Ride

Jul 26, 2022

The Select Board approved plans by the Buzzards Bay Coalition as the nonprofit prepares for its annual bike ride through the South Coast on Oct. 2, 2022.

Event Manager Jonah Guerin described plans for the Watershed Ride, which offers 35-mile, 75-mile and 100-mile route options between Little Compton, Rhode Island and Woods Hole, Cape Cod. This year marks the 16th annual Watershed Ride, he said.

The portion of the ride that goes through Wareham wouldn’t require any road closures, Guerin said, just the use of public roads. The coalition also asked to have permission to post several of their own signs directing cyclists in the right direction through town.

After little discussion, the Select Board approved the coalition’s permits.

Cyclists ride in the event to raise money for the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Find more information on the ride and how to register at the coalition’s website.
