Selectmen urge patience, tidiness from town

Selectmen called on residents to demonstrate more patience and understanding, saying that they have seen tempers flare in the past few weeks, both in person and over social media.

On Tuesday, Selectman Patrick Tropeano asked townspeople to treat the Selectmen and their staff with more respect after visitors were rude to Town Hall staff in the Selectmen's office.

“I know that it’s frustrating - we’re really want to help you, and we’re trying to get things to you as quickly as we can,” Tropeano explained. “So we ask that you please treat us and our staff with respect, as we give you respect.”

Selectman Alan Slavin also chimed in, on a different manners matter, requesting that people on Minot Avenue and Narrows Road not let trash fly out of the back of their cars and trucks.

"It’s a recent thing,” he said, “but all of that trash doesn’t look nice. I’m an old man,” he joked, “and it’s not good for me to be running around in the road picking up trash while people are nearly running me down in their cars.”
