Southcoast Health to offer variety of free programs for February
Southcoast Health is offering a number of free programs being offered for the month of February.
Those include:
Bereavement Support Group
The Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association, also known as the Southcoast VNA, will offer free bereavement programs for grieving adults on Tuesday, February 10 from 1 to 2:15 p.m. at Tobey Hospital, 43 High Street in Wareham, in the library (use main entrance, library is on first floor).
Maternity Services
Southcoast Maternity Services will offer an Early Pregnancy Education for women who are planning to become pregnant or are early on in their pregnancy. The program will help women lay the foundation for a healthy pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.
This program is made possible through a grant received by the Makepeace Neighborhood Fund. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tobey Hospital. Healthy snacks and a free book will be provided to each participant. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 508-273-4151.
Weight Loss Seminar
Southcoast Center for Weight Loss will offer free informational sessions on the risks and benefits of weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, on Tuesday, February 24, at 6:30 p.m. at either the Tobey Hospital Operating Room or the Waiting Room. The location is to be determined.
There will also be Weight Loss Informational Sessions to review the different non-surgical weight loss options offered at the Southcoast Center for Weight Loss.
The sessions will include information on Optifast, a weight loss program which combines lifestyle education, meal replacements, medical management and individual and group counseling. The sessions will also include information on a non-meal replacement option program called 3C’s for Success (Commit, Challenge, Change).
The session will take place Thursday, February 19 at 4 p.m. at the Rosebrook Medical Office Building, 3rd Floor Conference Room, 100 Rosebrook Way.
