Southcoast Health System receives $50,000 from Tobey Hospital Guild
The Tobey Hospital Guild recently presented Southcoast Health System with a check for $50,000 from proceeds it raised over the past year during its annual meeting held on May 24 at Salerno’s Function Hall in Onset.
The gift includes $25,000 that will complete the Guild’s previous $100,000 pledge to Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care’s Fairhaven site. The remaining $25,000 is the Guild’s first payment toward a new $100,000 pledge to purchase new patient equipment at Tobey Hospital.
“We are very pleased to have been able to meet this three year pledge in only two years,” said Dorothy Rasmussen, president of the Tobey Hospital Guild. “The Guild is proud to be able to help Tobey Hospital provide state-of-the-art health care to our patients.”
The Tobey Hospital Guild is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to render service to Tobey Hospital, its tax-exempt subsidiaries, its patients and to assist in promoting the health and welfare of the community. The Guild raises money throughout the year by hosting various fundraisers. They also run the Tobey hospital gift shop with all proceeds going toward Tobey Hospital.
Joining the Guild is a great way to become involved in a community hospital. Members serve as ambassadors to the community on behalf of the hospital. For more information or to join, please call 508-291-3453.
