State Police are searching for a suspect accused of fleeing a Wareham crash that killed a 48-year-old man early Monday morning.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding the driver of a large construction dump truck with a gray body and steel tailgate. The truck’s rear driver side is likely damaged, officials said.

Anyone with information is urged to call State Police Detectives at 508-894-2600 or 508-759-4488.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. Monday morning on Route I-195, just before the Route 28 exit. Officials said State Police and Wareham EMS and firefighters responded and found a heavily damaged black Nissan Titan pickup truck.

Inside the truck, first responders found two men, the driver and a passenger. The driver, whose condition is unknown at this time, was taken to the Tobey Hospital for treatment. The passenger was determined dead at the scene, officials said.

Police are not identifying the victims at this time.

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, and Crime Scene Services Sections are investigating the crash.
