'Stone Soup Days' food drives on May 12 and 25

The Community Resources Network is holding its 20th Annual "Stone Soup Days" collection of food on Saturday, May 12 at Shaw’s Market in Wareham and on Friday, May 25 at the Wareham Country Market on Route 6 and the Farmer’s Market on Route 28 in Wareham, and at the Marion General Store in Marion.

Volunteers will accept food items and/or cash donations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days. Donations may also be mailed to Community Resources Network, P.O. Box 550, Wareham, MA 02571.

Food Pantries which will benefit from these drives include Damien’s Place, St. Vincent De Paul, the Bourne Council on Aging, the Church of the Good Shepherd and other small pantries.

Community Resources Network is an all-volunteer, non profit organization founded in 1992 in a cooperative effort to draw together the resources of churches, social groups, businesses and individuals in order to provide access to basic living necessities.

As a “first response” agency, CRN provides support and directs petitioners to other resources that meet their needs.
