Story walk offered at Minot Forest throughout the winter

Jan 24, 2015

The Buzzards Bay Coalition invites families to take a story walk at Minot Forest this February as part of Stories in the Snow, a unique program hosted by the Coalition and the Wareham Land Trust.

Every Saturday, families can follow the trail and read a new story that’s set up along the way.

Stories in the Snow will feature four winter stories:

Jan. 30-Feb. 5: "The Mitten" by Jan Brett

Feb. 6-Feb. 12: "Snow" by Uri Shulevitz

Feb. 13-Feb. 19: "Outside" by Deirdre Gill

Feb. 20-Feb. 28: "Owl Moon" by Jane Yolen

The story walk project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

The walks can be done anytime from dawn to dusk. A new story will be displayed on the trail at each week.

Minot Forest is located at 63 Minot Ave.

This program is part of the Coalition’s Bay Adventures series – programs designed for explorers of all ages to get outside and discover Buzzards Bay. To learn more about all our upcoming Bay Adventures, visit www.savebuzzardsbay.org/BayAdventures.
