Wareham, Bourne, and Rochester area students won student of the month and student of the year awards last Thursday, May 3 from the Wareham Lodge of Elks #1548 located at 2855 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham.

Wareham High School student Nick Cleveland won a Student of the Year award. Students from Wareham High School that won student of the month awards include Joshua Dix, Tara DiGiantomaso, Twinkle Patel, Madison Catarius, Brian Vroom, Samantha Reynolds, Douglas Geist, and Chaunte Fernandes.

An estimated 180 students and their families from 5 area schools attended the ceremony at the Elks' Lodge.

Schools attending were Wareham High School, Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, Old Rochester Regional High School, Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School, and Bourne High School.

Awards were presented to students from each school for the entire year and for each individual month.

The ceremony featured a meal and the presentation of awards by Massachusetts State Representative Susan Williams Gifford and Wareham Lodge of Elks Exalted Ruler Robert Hurley.
