Sweet sounds and tastes

Folk singer and dulcimist Gail Rundlette had the crowd identifying as pizzas and extolling the virtues of waltzing with bears in a sing-along and family concert sponsored by the Wareham Historical Society on Monday, August 23.
Accompanying herself on the mountain dulcimer (think of Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You"), Rundlette performed folk songs intermingled with history lessons about the instrument, which was developed from Nordic instruments brought to Appalachia by immigrants in the 19th century.
Her dulcimer worked up quite an appetite in the audience, who enjoyed ice cream sundaes after the performance.
