Swifts Beach group to host end of summer events

The Swifts Beach Improvement Association has a full docket of upcoming events for neighbors and local residents alike for the week ahead.

At 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, the association will host a “Thirsty Thursday” get-together at the Swifts Beach clubhouse, 38 Pleasant St. Neighbors can congregate at the clubhouse for the last gathering of the summer, bring drinks and snacks and perhaps play a few games of cribbage.

At 7 p.m. on Friday at Sept. 2, a family bingo night will be held to raise funds for the Swifts Beach playground project. Kids and adults prizes will be available, along with raffle baskets. Wine will be offered for a suggested donation, and donated raffle baskets are appreciated.

At 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, an ice cream social will be open to all. The social costs $5.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, field day races will be held at the Swifts Beach playground. Prizes will be awarded for the 1st and 2nd winners in the 50-yard dash. Prize donations are appreciated, along with egg donations for the egg toss.

At 12:30 p.m. immediately following the races on Sunday, Sept. 4, will be a bocce tournament.

At 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, a fall breakfast will be hosted at the clubhouse. Breakfast tickets cost $8 for adults and $4 for children. The breakfast will be followed by a raffle drawing and fall meeting at 11 a.m. The annual Labor Day raffle will also have tickets available, six for $5.

Later next month, enjoy a fall craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Local artists will be featured, along with a bake sale.
