Take pride in Wareham with Litter Clean-Up 2014
2014 is a big year for Wareham, beginning with the Wareham Summer of Celebration festivities in June and July.
You can show your pride in the town by joining citizens from every neighborhood in an effort to clean as much litter from Wareham's roadsides, parks and beaches as possible. Two years ago, citizens disposed of more than two tons of litter and we can do it again!
Four days are scheduled so everyone can find some time to join in on Friday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, May 18th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, May 19th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bagged litter can be dropped off at the Municipal Maintenance Lot located at 95 Charge Pond Road. The dumpster provided by A.D. Makepeace Company is only for litter and banned items will not be allowed. Batteries, mattresses, televisions, paint cans, etc. can be left to the side of the dumpster and will be disposed of properly.
Anyone in need of help picking up bagged litter or has questions, please call and leave a message at the Wareham Harbormaster's office at 508-291-3100 x 3186 or email marybruce89@yahoo.com and someone will be dispatched out to remove it.
