Thank you for help after health scare
To the Editor:
I recently suffered a cardiac arrest in my home and passed out on my kitchen floor. If not for the efforts of certain people, the outcome would have been disastrous. I would like to express my deep appreciation to these people.
My husband, Tommy, performed CPR when he found me. These actions bought precious minutes for the professionals to respond.
Wareham Police Officers Paul Somers and Micheal Phinney used their skills to take over until the defibrillator arrived. I was really impressed and grateful when I heard what they had done. I'm glad that the purchase of new defibrillators has been approved by the people of Wareham. These devices will be invaluable to any family who is in a similar situation.
The Wareham EMTs who responded and the staff at Tobey Hospital are also responsible for my successful outcome, and I'd like to express my thanks to all involved.
Otherswho helped during this time were our neighbors of Indian Mound Beach. Many people offered meals and emotional support when my family needed it most.
During these challenging times, it is heartening to see how wonderful people can be. In addition to my husband, I'd like to mention my sons, Justin, Thomas and Jeffrey. I hate that they went through this, but I am proud of their help and care at this difficult time.
