Thanks to staff at Kindred Transitional Care

Oct 9, 2012

To the Editor:

I want to publicly thank the amazing staff at Kindred Transitional Care - Forestview for the wonderful Family Day Barbecue that was held on September 22. It involved so much work to set up outside, bring out residents, and serve lunch to them and their families.

For those of us who have a loved one at Forestview, it was a great day.

We had the opportunity to get to know other families, share stories, laugh, and remember how life used to be.

In addition, Candida Rose and Michael Wayne provided terrific entertainment. Their singing was wonderful. Music is such a big hit with the residents, and we all loved singing along.

I also want to thank the staff for remembering to wear purple on September 21 for World Alzheimer's Day. It was a sea of purple. As someone whose partner has Alzheimer's, it made me feel good to see such a great response. A special thank you to Sue, Kim, and Stephanie for the great "purple" party in Unit 4, held to recognize the day.
