Things to do: Christmas carols and remembrance services

Dec 21, 2023

‘Tis the festive season, and Wareham is coming together to celebrate. This week, join the Gleason Family YMCA for some caroling and join Turning Point to remember those without a warm place to go.

Thursday, Dec. 21

Children cookie decoration
Older children ages 10-18 can decorate cookies with the Wareham Free Library from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the library’s meeting room, 59 Marion Road.
The library will provide the cookies and the icing for the event, and asks participants to provide their imagination.

Remembering the homeless
As winter begins, on the longest night of the year, Turning Point Resource Center and Wareham Area Committee for the Homeless will recognize National Homeless Persons Memorial Day with a ceremony at Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 74 High Street, and a memorial tree in Besse Park.
The ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m., and will remember those who have lost their lives due to their state of homelessness. It will be open to the public.

Saturday, Dec. 23

Carols, cocoa and cookies
Ring in the holidays with the Gleason Family YMCA with an afternoon of song and treats.
The YMCA will hold an afternoon of Christmas carols led by students from the Wareham High School chorus. It will happen from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 33 Charge Pond Road, and will be free for YMCA members.
Sip hot cocoa & be social while enjoying homemade cookies and holiday classics.
