Thursday, Jan. 1
New year new hike
Join the Wareham Land Trust on Thursday, Jan. 1 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. as part of First Day Hikes Cape Cod at Bryant Farm, Golf Shots Parking Lot, 123 Sandwich Road.
This guided hike will lead guests along the forest paths of Bryant Farm, with a chance to catch signs of winter wildlife. The route is approximately one mile with gently rolling terrain.
This program is free and open to all, warm layers and water are recommended.
Polar plunge into the bay
The water temps may be low, but the spirits going into 2026 will be high.
The Onset Bay Center will be hosting its annual Polar Plunge Thursday, Jan. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will brace the new year by running into Onset Bay. All participants are required to complete a waiver prior to the plunge.
Onset Bay will be cold, but the risk of hypothermia is very low, as participants will not be submerged in the water for very long. Further information and t-shirts can be found at savebuzzardsbay.org.
Friday, Jan. 2
Par-tee at the library
Swing on down to the library for a two day mini-golf event.
The entire Wareham Free Library will be turned into a 18-hol mini-golf course Friday, Jan. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 59 Marion Road. It is a $5 donation per person.

Crafty cardmaking
Have a snow-ball and craft some cards. The Wareham Council on Aging will be holding a card making class Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 9:30 a.m. in room 428.
Participants will be provided with enough materials to make three or four finished cards. The event is $8 per person, call 508-291-3130 to sign up.
