Thomas H. Sawin, 72, of Onset passed away on Christmas morning at Rhode Island Hospital after a short period of failing health. 

Born in Quincy, MA, Tom was the son of the late Samuel R. and Josephine R. Sawin. He was the brother of the late Connie Crowley and the late John Sawin. 

Tom grew up in Braintree, MA, and was a 1964 graduate of Braintree High School. He spent his childhood summers at the family cottage in Onset, which later became his permanent residence. 

Tom joined the US Air Force and served part of his tour of duty in the Far East during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the local VFW and Elks Clubs.

After leaving the service, Tom enjoyed a long career as a Pressman in the Printing and Graphics field. After retirement, he worked several other part-time jobs to remain active. 

Tom loved the ocean and enjoyed boating and shell fishing. He also loved animals and was an avid fan of New England sports teams, especially the Patriots.

Tom will be missed by many.
