Tigers end season with loss to Bulldogs, 29-0

Dec 10, 2013

The Wareham Tigers played their final game of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 10, losing to the N. Raleigh Bulldogs, 29-0. This was a consolation game in the Pop Warner National Championships at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Fla.

The Bulldogs were aggressive from the game's opening drive and did not calm down in the opening half.

The Bulldogs scored at touchdown on their first possession, and proceeded to do an onsides kick. Luckily, the Tigers recovered the ball with good field position.

However, the Tigers were unable to move the ball and convert on 3rd and 4th downs.

Backing up their strong defense, the Bulldogs' offense followed up with touchdowns.

At halftime, the Tigers trailed, 22-0.

Momentum did begin to swing in favor of the Tigers in the second half, though.

On several possessions, the Tigers were able to drive nearly within the red zone. However, these drives ended in interceptions.

The Tigers were able to also able slow down the Bulldogs' offense, including a fourth down stop. They did hold the Bulldogs to just one second-half touchdown, making the final score 29-0.

While this is a tough end to a tremendous Tigers season, the players will still take in the warm weather of Florida for a few days before returning home on Friday, Dec. 13.

When they return, the Tigers will remain the only Tigers team to compete in the National Championships. They will also enter next season with the opportunity to continue their regular season winning streak.
