Southcoast Health announced that the Tobey Hospital Guild has donated $81,000 as part of its five year $250,000 pledge to renovate and expand the emergency department at Tobey Hospital. The balance of the pledge after this second installment is $43,000.
At the annual meeting of the Tobey Hospital Guild held on Sept. 29 at Rosebrook Event Center, Guild President Elaine Meredith presented the check to Jack Dresser, senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer.
Guest speakers at the meeting were Dr. David McGinnis, chair of Tobey Hospital’s emergency department; Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh and Jeanne Flynn, mother of the late Brian Flynn, who spoke on the opioid crisis that is affecting both the young and adult population in our communities. Guild members, as well as members of the community, attended.
