Town election candidates run unopposed
Officially, there are no contests for elected town positions this year.
That may change if anyone wishes to launch a write-in campaign, but otherwise, all candidates are set to join or continue with the positions they sought.
This means that Board of Selectmen incumbents Judith Whiteside, of Great Neck Road and Peter Teitelbaum of Oak Street, will continue on the Board of Selectmen for another three year term.
Joyce Bacchiochi of Charge Pond Road, and Laurie Spear of Repose Lane, both took out nomination papers for a pair of open three-year seats on the School Committee. They will both begin at the committee after current members Mel Lazarus and Dr. Cliff Sylvia announced that they would not seek re-election near the end of 2016.
Donna Bronk of Glenda Avenue and Malcolm White of Main Street will return to the Sewer Commission for three-year terms. Also returning to further three-year terms are Board of Assessors incumbents Priscilla Porter and James McCahill, of Longboat Drive and Cleveland Way respectively.
Bronk will also return to the Wareham Housing Authority for a further five-year term.
