Eckstrom throws hat in ring for Select Board

Town election heats up

Mar 16, 2022

The town’s election races are heating up, with all Select Board seats contested and a newcomer in the running for town clerk.

Three seats are up for votes on the Select Board this year. Two are three-year positions currently held by Patrick Tropeano, who isn’t running for reelection, and Jim Munise, who is. Ronald Besse, Jody Santagate, and Jared Chadwick will join Munise on the ballot for those seats.

Also up for a vote is a one-year seat to be vacated by Peter Teitelbaum. Brenda Eckstrom, a former member of the board and the author of many petition articles up for votes at the Spring Town Meeting has pulled nomination papers, as has Tricia Wurts, who ran a write-in campaign last year.

Jenna Deane has pulled nomination papers for Town Clerk, as has incumbent Michele Bissonnette.

Also on the ballot: Margaret Ishihara for Town Moderator, Brennan McKiernan for School Committee, and incumbents Peter Dunlop for Sewer Commissioner and Dave Halberstadt for Assessor.

The town election will be held May 3.
