Restaurateur David Barry of Towne Tavern and Tap took the next step toward preparing the 3138 Cranberry Highway property, known as Lindsey’s Family Restaurant, for opening.

Lindsey’s Family Restaurant served the Wareham community for the last 74 years, until its closing in November 2022.

Berry and Jon Aieta, a partner of McDermott Quilty & Miller LLP, were present for a Select Board public hearing for requests to transfer Lindsey’s liquor license as well as make an alteration to the building, including minor cosmetic changes of the interior and exterior.

Both were granted by the Select Board.

Berry said as a family restaurant owner, the Lindsey’s Restaurant property made sense as his next location.

He said, “We're just looking to plant our roots there and become a good supporter and contribute to the community as a whole.”
