Community Youth Empowerment will be hosting a free, coronavirus-safe Halloween extravaganza on Saturday, October 31, beginning at 2 p.m. The event will include food, music, merchandise, raffles, and prizes.

CYE’s spook-tacular event will be held at the Onset VFW, 4 Gibbs Ball Park Rd.

Attendees are invited to bring a carved pumpkin and wear a costume. There will be prizes for the best costume and best pumpkin. 

There will also be trunk-or-treating from 3 to 5 p.m. so kids can go from decorated car trunk to decorated car trunk getting candy. 

At 5:30 p.m., Hocus Pocus will be played on the big screen.

While the event is free, donations will be accepted.

Those wishing to donate candy should do so before October 23. Sealed bags of candy and monetary donations will be accepted. On October 28, volunteers will gather at the Onset VFW to bag candy for the event. All volunteers will be wearing gloves and masks and sanitizing the areas where bags are being assembled. The group is hoping for at least 25 volunteers to help out.
