Mar 19, 2016

Wareham native and UMass Dartmouth senior Jordan Rezendes has been selected to participate in the annual Reese’s National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III College All-Star Game, to be held in coordination with the NCAA Division III Men’s Final Four in Salem, Virgina on March 19.

Rezendes is only one of 18 participants selected from around the country and will play for the East team under former Colby College head coach Dick Whitmore. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight Division III regions, while an additional two student-athletes have been selected via online vote at D3Hoops.com.

The Onset native and Wareham High School graduate generated one of the most prolific scoring seasons in the nation in 2015-16 and rewrote the UMass Dartmouth record books in the process. A starter in 26 of 27 games this season, he shattered the program’s single-season scoring record with 831 total points. On the season, Rezendes led both the LEC and all of Division III with his 29.7 points per game average. He registered the highest single-game scoring mark in nation on Jan. 30 at Plymouth State, dropping 58 points to break his own UMass Dartmouth single-game scoring record of 51 points which he set in the 2014-15 season.

In addition to his 58-point performance, Rezendes set a new UMass Dartmouth single-game standard this year on Dec. 1 at Worcester State with 10, 3-pointers. He established new program season marks with 210 free throws and 103, 3-pointers made for the Corsairs this year. He was recognized as LEC Player of the Week four times on the season, and USBWA Division III National Player of the Week twice.

Highly decorated, Rezendes is the back-to-back LEC Player of the Year and most recently was named to the D3Hoops.com All-Northeast First Team on Monday.
